Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Bruce Braley (IA-01) traveled to Davenport and Cedar Rapids on Day One of a two-day tour of eastern Iowa colleges and universities to host a series of campus forums on the state of higher education.
Washington, D.C. – Congressmen Bruce Braley and Dave Loebsack today spoke with President Obama about the importance of continued support to ensure Cedar Rapids, and all communities affected by the Floods of 2008, fully recover. Following the floods, the Congressmen worked on a bipartisan basis with the entire Iowa delegation to secure disaster assistance to start the rebuilding process. During their meeting with the President, Loebsack and Braley discussed the challenges many families, businesses and communities are still facing.
Washington, DC – After President Obama used his State of the Union address last night to call on Congress to stop the looming spike in student loan interest rates, Rep. Bruce Braley (IA-01) introduced legislation today to indefinitely keep the interest rate for federally subsidized Stafford loans at 3.4 percent, their current, low rate.
