Braley Secures $20.8 Million in Medicare Payments to Iowa Hospitals
Washington, DC – Rep. Bruce Braley (IA-01) today announced that 20 Iowa hospitals have received over $20.8 million in additional Medicare reimbursements under a provision of the Affordable Care Act known as the “Lowest Quartile Provision.” These Iowa hospitals have historically been underpaid because Medicare bases payments largely on geography.

Braley Calls for Iowa Law Requiring Air Monitoring at Ice Rinks
Des Moines, IA – Rep. Bruce Braley (IA-01) joined concerned parents and their children today on the steps of the Iowa state capitol to call on the state of Iowa to pass a law requiring indoor ice rinks to install air monitoring equipment to alert patrons to the presence of unhealthy levels of dangerous fumes, like carbon monoxide.

Braley’s Plain Language in Health Insurance Law is Implemented
Washington, DC – Three government agencies announced new rules late yesterday to fully implement Rep. Bruce Braley’s (IA-01) Plain Language in Health Insurance Act, a bill he introduced that was later passed into law as part of the 2010 Affordable Care Act.
